We are going Green!

Hawaii Supply has launched its Environmental Sustainability Project aiming to reduce its impact on Hawaii's environment

 and to contribute to the global efforts of sustaining the environment. The "Go Green" committee has been formed on  November 4th , 2008, Hawaii Supply management formed a committee of a cross functional team from all departments, this team has been assigned the responsibility of putting together the new environmental sustainability program.
Program Description
This project aims to developing various guidelines and practices that will reduce the company’s and its employees’ impact on the environment as well as achieving cost saving in various areas. The project will focus on several areas where significant improvements in practices will have positive impact towards the environment. Such areas include but not limited to:

1- Green Office Practices.
2- Green Yard Practices.
3- Green Procurement Practices.
4- Employees’ Behavior towards Environment.

Program Objectives

1- Incorporate recycling programs into the company’s practices to reduce the amount of waste sent to the landfill. 
2- Incorporate employees’ awareness towards environmental sustainability to improve employees work life and reduce employees’ impact on the environment.
3- Minimize the amount of the company’s generated waste sent to landfill.
4- Incorporate the principles of energy efficiency and sustainability in all capital projects, renovation projects, operations and maintenance within budgetary constraints.
5- Minimize the use of non-renewable energy sources on behalf of the company’s built environment.
